Everyone loves a good hero in a story. The one that goes above and beyond! The one who is selfless and is always there to save the day. These heroes often times exhibit supernatural strength and limitless capabilities and courage. They…are on the front lines!
Many of us know people like this, have experienced these heroes in our lives or we have been these heroes. In whatever way you have experienced this heroism it has left us with a good feeling. A sense of comfort, satisfaction and security. We feel full just knowing that whatever the situation, our hero will be there to shield us, protect us and even guide us.
God is much like the heroes I’ve been describing and actually exceeds any form of heroism I can think of. I mean, his resume is a mile long. He has a proven record with numerous amounts of references. And talk about sacrifice, he gave the ultimate sacrifice, his Son! If that is not a SUPERHERO I don’t know what is. God is a hero that is omnipresent. You can’t miss him! He is everywhere all the time. Whew! Talk about having your back! God, the ultimate Hero is even omniscient! He knows e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! There is nothing that goes on that he doesn’t know already. I mean listen…he even knows the future! Can you say “God” for the win! Wait! Listen to this. He is also omnipotent! Boom! That’s the icing on the cake! The chocolate to the chip. The Son to the rise. Did ya see what I did there? He is able to do anything! He has unlimited power! Who wouldn’t want a hero like this?
Those of us that know God understand that he is more than just a hero, he is so much more! Sadly enough, not everyone knows this hero. Or at least not in a personal way. That is one of the reasons he called us to tell others about him. So that they can experience all that the father has to offer. So why is it so hard to tell others about Jesus? When we find a good restaurant, we can’t wait to tell others about it. When we find a great hairstylist, we can’t wait to tell others about it. When we find a good deal, we can’t wait to tell others about it.
Well, we have found the most life creating, changing, saving being in the universe! His name is Jesus Christ. We should never go a day without telling someone just how great he is. He is a master at introductions. He is the expert on all subject matter. He is able to love better than anyone. He adds to your life, not take from it. He helps you to grow and develop your character. He has so much he wants to reveal about himself, if only you will let him. So today and everyday purpose to tell someone about Jesus. Everyone needs the Ultimate Superhero in their life.
